Trip to Hengitsbury Head
KS3 have been learning all about different types of rocks and the rock cycle in their Science lessons. In these lessons they have learned how Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks are formed and have created various pieces of work describing this and the cycle that creates them.
On a Wednesday in March they were taken to Hengistbury Head near Bournemouth to look at the cliff faces; these cliff faces showed the different layers of rocks in them. The students then sketched these cliff faces and identified and labelled the different layers. The whole group also walked to the top of Hengistbury Head and visited the information centre, finishing off the day with fish and chips on the beach.
